Overview

Everway was formed from n2y and Texthelp. It builds technology that removes barriers to learning and work for neurodivergent people and for anyone who learns or communicates differently. The portfolio spans special education curriculum, literacy and reading support, accessible maths, symbol-based communication, IEP management, behaviour tools and workplace neuroinclusion software. It serves learners from early years through higher education. It also serves the teachers supporting them and employers building workplaces that accommodate many ways of thinking.

Challenges

Accessibility technology in education has a problem most software categories don't. The users it serves have genuinely different needs from each other. A tool built for the average user helps almost none of them. A student with dyslexia needs different support from a student with dyscalculia, autism or ADHD. A non-verbal student communicating through symbols needs something different again. Building one product that serves all of them is not possible. That is why the portfolio spans more than fifteen distinct tools. And that creates its own difficulty. Teachers and districts have to work out which tool fits which student. A fragmented set of products becomes a barrier in itself. The compliance burden is unusually high too. Software used by children in schools handles sensitive data. It has to satisfy COPPA, FERPA, SOPPA, GDPR and ISO 27001 requirements at the same time across several jurisdictions. Reliability isn't a nice-to-have either. These tools are used by learners who already face barriers. A text-to-speech tool that fails during an exam does real harm to the student depending on it.

Solution highlights

A matching tool solves the selection problem. Educators identify which features fit which student needs instead of comparing fifteen products. Solutions are also organised by neurotype. Dyslexia, ADHD, autism, dyspraxia and dyscalculia. So a teacher can start from the student rather than the catalogue. On compliance the platform carries COPPA, FERPA, SOPPA and GDPR compliance plus ISO 27001 certification. There's a public trust centre and a published responsible AI position.

KPMG reports 275,000 employees able to work more effectively with its literacy tool. Edmonton Public Schools reports 4,000+ students benefiting.
