Overview

Noor-e-Deen puts five daily Islamic tools in one app. There's an accurate Qibla compass. There are prayer timings for the user's location. The Holy Quran can be read or listened to. A collection of daily Duas sits alongside authentic Hadiths. It works for Muslims at home and for those travelling. Someone opening an Islamic app for the first time should find it as usable as someone who reaches for one daily.

Challenges

Anyone who prays five times a day and travels regularly hits the same friction. Finding the Qibla in an unfamiliar city means trusting a compass that may or may not be accurate. Prayer times shift with location. A schedule that was right last week is wrong today. Reading the Quran and checking a Dua for a specific occasion and looking up a Hadith usually mean three separate apps. Each one has its own interface, its own ads and its own ideas about layout. The category is also full of apps that ask for far more personal data than a compass and a prayer clock could need. That's an uncomfortable trade for something used in a private moment of worship. The gap we saw wasn't a missing feature. It was the absence of one calm well-designed app that does all five things properly and asks for nothing back.

Solution highlights

We built Noor-e-Deen as one app covering the full daily routine. The Qibla compass gives a precise direction from anywhere in the world. It works at home or in a hotel in a country the user has never visited. Prayer timings are calculated from the user's location and paired with reminders. A Salah shouldn't be missed just because the day got away from someone. The Quran section is built for long comfortable reading. Recitation audio is there for a commute or for listening while doing something else. The Dua collection is curated around the occasions people actually look them up for. The Hadith selection supports learning without swamping the reader. Restraint ran through all of it. A clean uncluttered interface. No advertising. No data collection at all. The app collects nothing and shares nothing with third parties. That is verifiable on the Play Store listing rather than just claimed in a privacy policy.

Our Role & Approach

This is a WanderCode in-house product. So each decision was ours to make and to live with. The central one was to ship it ad-free and collect no user data at all. That costs us the revenue an ad-supported build would earn. But an app used during prayer is not the right place for an interstitial. And asking for personal data to point a compass would undermine the trust the app runs on. We also picked breadth over depth for the first release. Rather than building the world's most feature-rich Quran reader we made sure all five daily tools were present and worked together. Switching between apps is the friction users actually feel. The interface was kept plain on purpose so the content is what the user notices and not the design.

Technology Stack

Platform: Android. Published on Google Play under the WANDERCODE developer account. Core capabilities: device compass and sensor handling for Qibla calculation, location services for prayer time computation, local notification scheduling for prayer reminders, bundled Quran text and audio playback and offline content delivery for Duas and Hadith. Privacy posture: no data collection and no third-party data sharing.

Outcomes

Noor-e-Deen is live on Google Play in the Education category with 500+ downloads and a 3+ content rating. It was last updated in June 2026. The consolidation works. A user who previously needed a separate Qibla app and a prayer time app and a Quran app now has all three plus Duas and Hadith in one place. The privacy position is the most distinctive outcome. Google Play's own data safety section confirms the app collects no data and shares none with third parties. That stands out in a category where long permission lists are normal. No advertising means nothing interrupts the experience during use. That matters more here than in almost any other app category. For WanderCode it shows capability across sensor-based direction finding, location-aware scheduling, audio playback and offline content delivery in one shipped product.
